The Private Label Manufacturers Association (PLMA), New York, announced the launch of new website, StoreBrandsUSA.com, offering recipe videos that feature store brand products.

According to PLMA, the recipes included on the site were developed by Chef Diane Kniss and are based on recipes offered by retailers around the United States and Canada. One of the featured recipes for March is Thai Vegetable Stir Fry with Noodles, which is made with ingredients from Trader Joe's. Also featured are recipe videos for Strawberry Tart and Chicken Pot Pie. New recipes will be added every month.

Each recipe video follows Chef Diane personally preparing the dish step by step, PLMA said. Consumers also may request a copy of the recipe through the website.

"Whether it's everyday family fare or a favorite dish for special occasions, store brands are the smart choice,” Kniss said. “You can buy them at considerable savings just about everywhere. And these days, the quality's as good as the higher-price brands.”

The website also offers a variety of interactive features to inform shoppers of the advantages of store brand products, PLMA said, including informative videos about what companies makes store brand products, a shopping calculator that shows the savings consumers can achieve by purchasing store brands instead of national brands, videos for home and health tips, and a ZIP code store locator for locating quality store brands.

"Store brands are the best way to save money at the checkout counter week-in and week-out, Kniss noted. “Store brands recipes help shoppers make dishes that their family and friends will remember at prices they can afford.”
