Price Chopper offers holiday dinners to go

PrintPrice Chopper offers holiday dinners to go

To help shoppers celebrate the holiday season, Schenectady, N.Y.-based Price Chopper Supermarkets is offering a complete roasted turkey dinner with all of the fixings to go.

According to the retailer, customers have a choice between a 10- to12-pound Plainville Farms full turkey or a 4- to 6-pound Plainville Farms turkey breast dinner with gravy, home-style herb dressing, cranberry sauce, real mashed potatoes, a dozen King’s Hawaiian or fresh in-store baked dinner rolls, and an eight-inch apple or pumpkin pie. Both of these dinners are available for $64.99 each. Additional home-style side dishes also are available at an extra cost.

For shoppers who are “turkey-ed out,” Price Chopper said it also offers an “Old Fashioned” Smokehouse Off-the-Bone Ham holiday dinner. This ham dinner, which weighs about 5 pounds, comes complete with mashed potatoes, rolls and an 8-inch pumpkin or apple pie for $39.99.

“We are committed to offering the highest quality holiday feasts for our shoppers to share with their families and friends,” said Mona Golub, vice president of public relations and consumer and marketing services. “The Plainville Farms turkeys are grown without the routine use of antibiotics and without animal byproducts in the feed. The apples for our pies come from orchards in New York, and the pumpkin pie filling is made from pumpkins from Amish farmlands in Pennsylvania.”

All of the menu items are prepared using all-natural ingredients, just like in home kitchens, Golub added.

Price Chopper said it also posted holiday cooking tips and recipes at www.pricechopper.com. Videos that show proper turkey preparation and carving techniques are available at http://www2.pricechopper.com/turkey/carving.shtml.
