Whole Foods CEO to Keynote PLMA Trade Show

PrintWhole Foods CEO to Keynote PLMA Trade Show

The Private Label Manufacturers Association (PLMA), New York, said John P. Mackey, the co-founder and long-serving chief executive of Austin, Texas-based Whole Foods Market, will be the keynote speaker at its 2012 Private Label Trade Show, slated for Nov. 11-13 in Rosemont, Ill.

Starting with a concept of organic and natural goodness, Mackey built a national chain of more than 325 stores with more than $10 billion in sales, PLMA noted. The launch of Whole Foods’ 365 private label demonstrated that store brands not only could offer superior value in dollars and cents, but also could become emblematic of the values that defined and connected the company to its core customers.

The keynote address will take place during PLMA’s Salute to Excellence Breakfast in the Grand Ballroom of the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Rosemont at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 12.

This year’s trade show also will feature a series of seminars on the afternoon of Sunday Nov. 11, PLMA said. Speakers will focus on new retail strategies, the latest industry research, packaging developments and more. And on Tuesday morning, a special PLMA Live! Breakfast will feature reports from PLMA’s online video news service at www.plmalive.com, in addition to a presentation related to global private label trends.

For more information about the show, call 212-972-3131 or visit www.plma.com.
